Long ago, a Chinese emperor created it artificially after much effort in order to enjoy the taste of jade through porcelain.
In Japan, celadon ore was discovered in what is now Okawauchiyama, Imari City, during the Edo period, and it continues to be fired today as Nabeshima celadon.
