Formed incense (nerikō, inkō) is made by kneading powdered aromatics with honey, maturing, and shaping into pellets or floral forms. Heated with the soradaki method, it releases a gentle fragrance without smoke. Mentioned in Heian literature, it is still enjoyed today in tea ceremonies and kōdō.
