Collection: Granulated Incense (Shōkō)

Shōkō is granulated incense, a coarse blend of chipped aromatic woods, resins and herbs. Rather than being lit directly, a pinch is sprinkled over lit charcoal in a censer, where it releases a deep fragrance that unfolds slowly as it warms. Long used in temples and at memorial services, it is also enjoyed at home with a small burner and ash.
