Keigado Keiga Byakudan (Sandalwood) 65g (73)

When the Keiga Byakudan (Sandalwood) was first ignited, it smells like Shunkohdo Sarasoju Sandal (my previous and first purchase) for a short while, but with lesser wood burning smell. Subsequently, light sandal scent was discerned, though it carried with it a more powdery and sweet note: very Indian incense feel. Feels dry but not woody and resinous. The smoke is very thin and scattered. The scent could only be discerned when one gets more up close, and it does not feel dense and acrid at all. The scent is quite unified and consistent throughout the burn. The burned ash curls into a U/horseshoe-shape before falling. It left a subtle signature sweet sandalwood scent up to 60 minutes after extinguishment. Burn time was quite ample - approximately 47 minutes for me.

The Keiga Byakudan is a refined, open and calming incense. I find myself reaching for it very often.

This was my repeated purchase from Wa no Kaori. Their product offerings are wide and the purchasing process very efficient.
