Kameyama Iroha Akari S LED Candle Lotus (Hasu) (76870000)

An LED candle with the realistic texture of real wax that recreates the natural flicker of a flame. A modest, graceful lotus emerges in the soft light. Its compact size fits even a small butsudan, and it can be used as a pair of Bon lanterns.

Uses 2 AA batteries (sold separately).

A popular compact size. "Lotus" is a popular design all year round, not only for Obon decorations but also as the altar light for a butsudan.

The "Iroha Uta" is a poem that begins with "Iro wa nioedo chirinuru wo". It is said to express, in hiragana, the truth taught in the Buddhist Nirvana Sutra. Everything in this world changes; nothing lasts forever, and all things must one day pass away.

Yet by knowing the world that lies beyond that passing, one comes to understand the true nature of things, and only then does real peace of mind arrive. "Iroha Akari" carries a gentle wish for the peace of those who are dear to you. Made with real wax (paraffin wax) for a realistic texture.

"Iroha Akari / Lotus S size", a stylized depiction of the lotus flower. One size smaller than the regular size. The lotus blooms in the early morning and closes by midday. This candle seems to capture the scene of its petals opening all at once, so as not to miss that fleeting moment.

A new type of LED candle that combines the realism of a candle with the brightness of a light. The whole body glows brightly, and its soft light gently illuminates the surroundings. The lotus, said to bloom in the Pure Land, is an essential motif for Buddhist rites. Also recommended as a Bon lantern.

"Iroha Akari" comes in a wide range of sizes and designs.

How to use

• Set the switch on the bottom to "ON" to turn the light on. To turn it off, set it to "OFF".
• Remove the protective film to enjoy the texture of the wax.
• If the light stops working or becomes dim, replace both batteries with new ones.
• The color of the body may change over time.
• On rare occasions it may turn on or off in response to the remote control of a TV or other electrical appliance.
• The flickering of the light is designed to evoke the flicker of a flame.
