Raku ware began in the Momoyama period under the guidance of Sen no Rikyu and has since been cherished by tea masters as a uniquely Japanese form of pottery.

This kikikoro (incense burner) is crafted using traditional techniques. Each piece is individually removed from the kiln with special metal chopsticks, leaving distinctive marks that remain as part of its unique charm. Made by the Raku-nyu kiln.
